Here at First Baptist church of Fairborn it is our goal to help students understand that their identity is in Christ. With that knowledge we work to develop them into fully functioning followers of Christ.
Our motto for Ignite Student Ministries is this, "Save the lost. Revive the saved. Train them all." We strive to show students the importance of a real and personal relationship with God. When you hang out with our adult leaders you will gain a fresh understanding of how God has been personally at work in their lives. When Christians take their walks with God seriously they start to see what Jesus meant by "Having life more abundant."
We take scripture as God's Word and believe that we will see lives changed when it is applied to our lives. Our core values show us a practical way of looking at God's Word and how it should change our behavior:
- Honor: We are to honor God and each other in our actions and attitudes (Romans 12:10, 17)
- Encourage: We are to encourage each other, never swear, gossip, or insult others (Romans 12:14-16)
- Serve: We are to serve God in all things and serve each other (Romans 12:11, 20)
- Love: We are to show love in all situations regardless of the circumstances (Romans 12:9, 14, 16, 21)
We are also serious about having a great time! From theme nights, to concerts, to our adventurous "Amazing Race" events, we offer a wide variety of fun activities for youth to be engaged and build relationships with each other. Check out our YouTube channel to see what has been happening recently.
There is a purpose behind everything we do as a student ministry
Our Sunday school is in place to train our students to understand who God is and who they are before Him. Help them to understand the importance of having salvation and a real relationship with God.
"Lift" on Sunday nights is mainly an outreach to unchurched students. These nights consist of fun activities that our Christian students can invite friends to and foster interest in our other youth programs.
Wednesday Night "Ignite" is reserved for discipleship training. The lessons taught are directed at Christian students who want to grow in their walk with God.
Our Doulos program helps students to begin serving in the church using their spiritual gifts. We mentor and train them in teaching Sunday school, leading small groups, evangelism, outreach/inreach, leading worship, and much more!
