Youth Pastor - Jonathan Thiede
Jonathan Thiede was born in Ames, Iowa on June 25, 1994. Two years later Jonathan’s father, Ted, accepted a job as a professor at Murray State University, so the Thiede family moved to Murray, KY. After graduating from Murray High School in 2012, Jonathan moved to Lexington, KY to attend the University of Kentucky where he studied accounting. Throughout college, Jonathan was allowed opportunities to work in ministry leadership both in church working with youth, and college ministry working with college students. In January of 2016, Jonathan felt the call to pastoral ministry. A few months later Jonathan accepted a one-year pastoral internship at Parkside Church in Cleveland, OH where he refined his skills in teaching, counseling, and leadership.
Jonathan has been serving as the student pastor at First Baptist Church of Fairborn since May 24, 2017. His goal is to build students up through the teaching and application of the word of God and to move students to a deeper, more intimate relationship with God through the exposition and application of the gospel.
The verse Jonathan wants to most describe his life and ministry is Philippians 3:8. It says, “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish in order that I may gain Christ.” Jonathan’s goal is for all to know that Jesus Christ is worth everything.
Jonathan’s hobbies include sports, video games, musical theatre, reading, and teaching the Bible.
