How to Become a Member
We take membership seriously here at First Baptist Fairborn. If you are interested in membership please read over our Church Covenant. Membership is about more than church attendance. It is a commitment to a covenant of faith, encouragement, and service to God and our fellowship where we seek to connect people to Jesus and develop fully functioning followers of Christ.
You become a candidate for membership by:
Profession of Faith and Believer’s Baptism:
Individuals who are inviting Jesus Christ into their lives to forgive them of their sins and take control of their lives, and are willing to follow Him in Believer’s Baptism by immersion.
By Transfer of Membership or by Statement:
Individuals who have accepted Christ, have membership in another church of like faith and order and have been immersed as believers in Christ.
Individuals who have previously accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior but were never immersed.
Come to the front during one of our invitations and make your intentions known to our Pastor or one of the deacons. We will then present you as a candidate for membership to the church. One of the pastoral staff or a deacon will meet with you to discuss your decision and answer any questions that you might have.
We offer new believers classes and new members classes on a regular basis during the Sunday school hour. Please feel free to attend either of these at any point during your decision making process.
